Hidden Artists

Every year in Dorking, Surrey, a fantastic art exhibition takes place.

Artists from around the country donate a post card sized piece of original artwork that goes up for grabs.

The public do not know who the artist is until after they've bought the piece.

Each piece of work is sold for £40. All the money made goes to the NSPCC and local Dorking charities.

I have donated work for the past two years and I'm delighted to say that all my work was snapped up!

 Hidden Artists 2012 raised a whopping £8,000 for the NSPCC and local Dorking charities!

This year  a lovely lady called Andrea fell in love with my latest donation and took it home!

"Walking around the gallery, my eyes kept getting drawn back to your striking and beautiful owl design. The sale began at two o'clock to a brilliant atmosphere, there was a real buzz in the air. When it was my turn I was absolutely thrilled to be able to purchase your piece, I love it! I know you also donated a piece last year and I just wanted to say it is so very generous of you"

Oxfam, Dalston

In November I found out that thieves had stole a large part of Dalston Oxfam's Christmas display and stock. I was outraged by this! I wanted to reassure the kind volunteers of the shop that there still are some people out there who like to give rather than take.

I donated a stack out Two For Joy Christmas cards to the shop right away in order to bring in a bit of extra cash for a such a fantastic organisation!

 Race For Life

In August I ran Cancer Research UK's Race For Life.

After months of training I ran 5k in 35 minutes on the dot. I think I would have had a better time if half the race wasn't up hill and it was boiling hot sunshine!

I raised £200 for Cancer Research and will definitely be running it again next year!

 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill    

I created an original cut out that is being made into limited edition prints.

These prints are being made with the wildlife in mind that have been so badly affected in the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

25% of the profits from these prints will go to IBRRC- International Bird Rescue Research Centre, USA.

IBRRC is working with Tri-State Bird Rescue, the lead oiled wildlife organization on the ground, to set up and staff rehabilitation centres in Louisiana, Alabama Mississippi and Florida, where the growing oil slick is severely impacting birds.

IBRRC are working so hard to clean up the wildlife along the Gulf of Mexico. These animals cannot help themselves and rely on organisations like IBRRC and people like you supporting this cause.
